Earning Criteria

The NER registrant has demonstrated technical competence in the area(s) of engineering described in the "Evidence" section of this badge.
The NER registrant holds a Degree in Engineering (4 or more years) that meets the requirements of the Washington Accord or has been assessed by Engineers Australia as having qualifications of a comparable standard and level.
The NER registrant has demonstrated 5 years of relevant work experience at the level of a Professional Engineer.
NER registrants have been assessed as competent to the expected standard of an independent practitioner. The registrant is assessed against five competency elements: Deal with Ethical Issues, Practice Competently, Develop Safe and Sustainable Solutions, Identify & Manage Risks and Local Engineering Knowledge.
NER registrants are committed to ethical practice and are bound to abide by Engineers Australia's Code of Ethics
The NER registration is subject to be renewed annually, and is valid as long as the registrant meets audit and CPD requirements.
NER registrants are entitled to use the postnominal NER after their name.
