Earning Criteria

Document at least five years’ professional experience working with adults, performing talent development activities as described in the Developing Professional Capability and/or Impacting Organizational Capability domains of the Talent Development Capability Model. This includes activities such as instructional design, training delivery and facilitation, learning technologies, evaluating learning programs, human performance improvement.

Pass a comprehensive, standardized exam designed to assess the ability to apply knowledge and use critical thinking to solve on-the-job situations encountered in the daily work of talent development professionals. The 150 question exam includes multiple choice questions and case management questions with extensive branching to validate the ability to apply previous learning and experience to future circumstances.

Adhere to a Code of Ethics and re-certify every three (3) years through at least 60 points of continuing professional development.

As part of the application process, candidates must document a minimum of sixty (60) hours of continuing education coursework completed that covers core talent development capability areas, as described in the Talent Development Capability Model. This includes: learning sciences, instructional design, training delivery & facilitation, change management, knowledge management, talent strategy & management, business insight
