This 1-week camp is designed specifically to introduce youth to a variety of career pathways within brain related research and brain functioning. We will dissect a sheep brain to learn about brain structure and related parts of the brain which perform complex functions. Topics include: Principles of Neurotransmission, neurological disorders and diseases; genes and cognition; model systems to study neurosciences (effect of drugs on heart rate using daphnia); and optical illusions and perception.
