Earn the CGFM designation.
Maintain CGFM in active status.

Standards

Requirements to earn CGFM:

Current candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S college or university, pass three CGFM examinations and complete two years of professional-level experience in U.S. government financial management.

Requirements for active CGFM status:

CGFMs must renew their designation annually and complete 80 CPE hours every two years in government financial management topics.
