The recipient of this microcredential has earned a lifetime membership in the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars.

A one-credit introductory course providing an orientation to the internationalization of Auburn University, covering international resources, offices, majors, minors, curricula, and co-curricular opportunities. This course introduces students to the knowledge and skills needed to become globally competent in the 21st century.

Students are encouraged to work with their academic advisors to incorporate courses in their academic majors with international content into their undergraduate plan of study. All majors contain international content, experiences, and viewpoints, and the selection and availability changes over time, monitored by academic advisors.

A two-credit capstone course designed to assist students interested in internationalizing their careers. Course content, assignments, and reflection develop students’ critical thinking skills and expand their capacities to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary group setting in an international and intercultural context. This course prepares students to effectively communicate their global experiences and enhances their ability to contribute to a globally connected world.

Study, work, service, and/or internship abroad (or equivalent domestic intercultural) experience that aids the student in developing intercultural skills and understanding and a more global mindset. This experience is at least two weeks in length and is designed, assessed, and curated by a faculty mentor.

Required co-curricular programing, embedded within the introductory and capstone courses, provides students with opportunities to see, hear, listen, taste, feel, and understand information, music, food, and experiences from the wide array of global cultures found on campus.
