The CIH Retirement Designation recognizes practitioners after a successful professional career. It cannot be used in place of an active CIH credential for work. However, it provides an opportunity for on-going engagement with the professional community, and publicly acknowledges the important contribution of the retired practitioner in the protection of the health and safety of workers and the public against chemical, physical, biological, or ergonomic hazards.

Earning Criteria

Retirement status is available after completing one 5-year recertification/credential maintenance cycle in good standing.

Individuals holding a BGC retired status designation agree to uphold the BGC Code of Ethics and represent their BGC certification status accurately.
