5-Step Problem Solving

Earners of the 5-Step Problem Solving certification have completed the one day intensive training, engaged in at least two coaching sessions, completed a Problem Solving A3, and obtained peer feedback. At the end of the training they are able to obtain approval of their A3 and present it, detailing their problem, root causes, and proposed countermeasures.

Earning Criteria

Participants complete an intensive, day-long course on A3 Problem Solving.

Participants complete a problem-solving A3 and attend at least two PDCA coaching sessions with their training facilitator.

A completed problem-solving A3 is reviewed and approved by the Problem-solving facilitator. Participants must have clearly defined their problem, analyzed root causes, and identified and tested countermeasures to obtain approval.

Participants present their approved problem-solving A3 to their peers for feedback. The final presentation is delivered to their leadership team.
