Completers of this program complete training modules over a ten month period that address essential leadership competencies, identified by the organization, through classroom training and experiential learning.

Earning Criteria

"Communication Skills for Leaders" helps employees hone both communication and influencing skills, and helps them to deliver the right message for winning outcomes.

"Conflict Management" facilitates creating a climate of collaboration. Discussion includes the five conflict management styles, identifying individual styles, and determining which conflict management styles are most effective in various situations.

"Exploring Your Leadership Style through DiSC" provides instruction on exploring and identifying personal leadership styles that can be leveraged in the workplace. A review of the DiSC framework and its fundamental concepts include utilizing the DiSC tool to identify individual strengths, motivations, triggers, and potential vulnerabilities as a new manager. Using insight from the DiSC tool to develop stronger working relationships and foster a healthier workplace environment are discussed.

"Negotiating for Winning Outcomes " helps employees strengthen critical skills needed to negotiate and advocate for themselves and their teams when there are limited resources, competing demands, and/or differences of opinion. Participants learn to identify other party’s decision-making criteria, objections and fears and effectively address them to attain desired outcomes.

"Critical Thinking and Creative Problem Solving" provides hands-on experience using critical thinking skills necessary to breakdown simple and complex problems, inviting thinking outside the individual’s regular patterns to discover innovative solutions allows for the recognition of opportunities for improved performance, profitability, and innovative and entrepreneurial solutions.

"Leading Change in the Workplace " empowers employees to deal with change in the workplace - both personally and as team leaders. Topics include understanding both positive and negative effects of change, learning personal response to change, helping to lead employees through change, seeing change as an opportunity, and communication strategies during change.
