Competency: Principles of Program Development and Administration in Education Abroad
Earners are able to articulate and apply Standards 2, 3, 6 and 7 in various education abroad contexts. They are able to ensure that educational objectives are central to program design and management, policies and procedures are well-defined and articulated, and programs are adequately funded and staffed. They are knowledgeable of best practices and where to find resources to support their work. They are competent in assessing education abroad operations based on these Standards.Additional Details
Complete three required assignments to assess the candidate's ability to: 1) conduct a gap analysis of operations and develop strategies to improve the practices and policies; 2) provide guidance to stakeholders regarding the academic framework of abroad programs based upon the Standards.
Assignments meet established rubrics as determined by two Forum Certified Assessors, professionals in the field with senior level experience and in depth knowledge of the Standards of Good Practice. Participants resubmit assignments to incorporate feedback from the assessors until the assignment meets the competency requirement.
