Earning Criteria

Complete one required assignments to assess the candidate's ability to: 1) articulate the importance of policies and procedures and program resources; 2) apply the Standards in real-world situations; 3) use the Standards to improve practices; 4) identify possible gaps within current program management practices using the Prompts for Self-Assessment; 5) find resources and best practices.

Assignments meet established rubrics as determined by two Forum Certified Assessors, professionals in the field with senior-level experience, and in-depth knowledge of the Standards of Good Practice. Participants must resubmit assignments to incorporate feedback from the assessors until the assignment meets the competency requirement.
Standards
The Forum on Education Abroad is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission as the Standards Development Organization for Education Abroad. The Forum develops and disseminates comprehensive Standards of Good Practice for the field of education abroad.
