Earners were Japanese Primary school teachers, selected by the Tokyo Board of Education to undertake a 4-week training program in Australia. Earners gained skills/knowledge in: Development of an understanding of the English language; English as a Second Language (ESL) - Teaching methods for young learners; Development and improvement of language skills in reading, speaking, writing and listening; Pedagogical practices in schools via school visits to observe lessons and interact with teachers

Earning Criteria

Earner must provide evidence of attendance, participation and progression through program content including English Language Skills Development and TESOL Teacher Training, including application of language learning theory and methodology to real classroom-based practice

Earners must attend specialised workshops and lectures - on teaching public speaking and debating; blended learning and ICT in ESL; and ALT (assistant language teachers) in the ESL classroom.

Earners must attend Australian Primary schools to observe pedagogical practices

Earners must complete field work and e-Learning sessions

Earners must provide micro teaching presentations

Earners must complete an individual e-Portfolio
