Earners of the Teaching for Learning - Designing for Learning badge will have acquired: a coherent body of knowledge of the theories and principles that underpin design for learning; demonstrated cognitive and creative skills to design a learning and teaching session plan.
Earning Criteria

Completion of a 3 hour face-to-face Designing for Learning workshop or equivalent Online Module.

Earners will be required to identify an aspect of teaching/ facilitation/learning support where they might apply their knowledge of effective teaching to improve student learning. They are to design a session using a clear session structure. The design is to include session learning outcomes and activities to support students’ achievement of them, and the time allocated to each activity. The design should cover a complete session regardless of its duration.

Earners must provide a rationale for their session plan (500 words maximum) that explains the choices made and makes appropriate reference to the literature to justify the session design.
