The badge earner has developed and published a university course to educate students on how to build, run, deploy, and develop applications on a hybrid cloud development platform, using IBM Bluemix. The course will teach students topics such as DevOps services, IBM Cloudant, Andoird development environment, Apple iOS, Push Notification Services, Node.js, Node packages, Liberty Profile, and MongoDB.

What it takes to earn this badge

  • Must be a faculty member of a Higher Education Institution which has or is implementing the IBM Skills Academy Program.
  • Completion of Module I - Cloud Computing Overview: Covering Cloud Overview, Trends, Case Studies.
  • Completion of  Module II - Cloud Application Foundations: Covering understanding Cloud Computing technologies; Introduction to HTML5 and JavaScript programming.
  • Completion of Module III - Cloud Application Developer: Cloud Service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS); Bluemix applications; Building applications using Node.js, Eclipse, Cloud Foundry, DevOp Services, and MBaaS; REST architecture, JSON and Functional security; Data Services in Bluemix; Server side JavaScript; Web Application framework; Liberty profile (administer, deploy and monitor applications).
  • Publishing the university course in the university collaboration space.
  • Submitting curriculum for the Faculty Rewards proposal.
  • Obtaining the Faculty Rewards International Curriculum review board's approval.
