Cloud Enterprise Developer - Author Award for Educators 2016

The badge earner has developed and published a university course to educate students on how  to migrate and integrate their applications to an enterprise hybrid cloud environment, using IBM Bluemix. The course will teach students topics such as Cloud Foundry, Docker, Liberty Profile, Eclipse, WebLogic, JBoss, Jython, Tomcat Server, REST Services, Secure Gateway, API and Data Integration, and DataWorks.

What it takes to earn this badge

  • Must be a faculty member of a Higher Education Institution which has or is implementing the IBM Skills Academy Program.
  • Completion of Module I - Cloud Computing Overview: Covering Cloud Overview, Trends, Case Studies.
  • Completion of Module II - Cloud Application Foundations: Covering Understanding Cloud Computing technologies; Introduction to HTML5 and JavaScript programming; Cloud Foundry and Bluemix architecture; Deploying applications in the Cloud and applying a Bluemix service.
  • Completion of Module III - Cloud Enterprise Developer: Migrating Applications to Cloud (Bluemix); Cloud Foundry & buildpacks; Docker, Liberty, and Tomcat; Cloud integration services (Secure gateway, VPN, and API); Application migration tools (Weblogic, JBoss, Jython); Cloud integration concepts; System of records & system of engagement; Secure gateway concepts, implementation, and clients; Transport Layer Security; API, Data Integration, and DataWorks; Web Application framework; Liberty profile.
  • Publishing the university course in the university collaboration space.
  • Submitting curriculum for the Faculty Rewards proposal.
  • Obtaining the Faculty Rewards International Curriculum review board's approval.
