What it takes to earn this badge

  • Must be a faculty member of a Higher Education Institution which has or is implementing the IBM Skills Academy Program.
  • Teaching of Module I - Data Management Overview: Covering Data overview, Industry Applications, Case Studies; and Understanding Big Data.
  • Teaching of Module II - Big Data Foundations: Covering Linux/Unix Essentials; RDBMS/SQL Essentials; Programming Essentials; Data Formats, Security, Governence, and Movement; and Networking Skills Basics.
  • Teaching of Module III - Data Scientist: Covering Introduction to Big Data and IBM BigInsights; Introduction to Apache Hadoop, Ambari & Spark; HDFS, MapReduce & YARN; Storing & Accessing Data; Using Big SQL to access HDFS data; Querying Hadoop data using Big SQL; Administering & managing Big SQL tables; Data federation using Big SQL; Discovering data with expressions, formulas, and functions; Integrating with Big SQL; Task Analysis; and AQL.
  • Delivering training to minimum 15 university students.
  • Have at least 60% of total students pass the final test.
