Environmental Microbiology
The microbiologists must have a solid foundation in basic chemistry, microscopy, cell anatomy and physiology, and microbial growth and metabolism. They must understand how microorganisms are classified and identified. Specifically, this badge demonstrates the earner's ability to describe environmental microbiology in terms of diversity, habitats, microbes in soil and water, biogeochemical cycles, and sewage and water treatment.
