The course objective is to provide students with knowledge of kinematics: the branch of mechanics that describes motion. From mechanics, students move to the study of energy, power, and momentum. Students learn how Newton's laws need to be modified, in order to avoid limitations, and includes new ideas introduced by Einstein. To conclude, students will learn about heat and thermodynamics, including the 1st and 2nd law of thermodynamics.
