Individuals who earn this badge completed the LITE version of the Blanchard Student Self Leadership for Champions course. The 4-week collaborative online teaches how to support teenagers so that they can become empowered self leaders. With five virtual sessions with Blanchard’s leadership experts as well as self-study material, the class provides a common language between adults and student self leaders so that they can become more self-reliant and have better conversations more often.

  • Completed 12+ hours of learning activities in the Student Self Leadership for Champions collaborative online consisting of formal learning and in-platform application work
  • Completed several self-assessments about: writing clear and compelling goals; diagnosing a person's development level on a goal or task; and demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and confidence to implement the self leadership mindsets and skillsets
  • Attended and/or viewed recordings of 4–5 virtual CHAMPION sessions including participation in large and small-group activities
  • Completed the self-study content, at-home activities, missions, and discussion questions for each week
  • Submitted assignments that describe: your mentor mission statement; applying Communication Essentials skills; personal goals; examples of when you have been at different development levels: beginning, struggling, building confidence, and expert; specific ways to help youth become more self-reliant; and skills that enable you to influence outcomes or people
