Earning Criteria

Completed eight core courses: Benefits Management: A Comprehensive Study of Employee Benefit Programs; Compensation Management; Effective Employee Relations; Finance for the Business Professional; Human Resource Management; Law and Human Resource Management; Managing the HR Staffing Function; and Organizational Development and Change; as well as three electives. Earned at least 15 units. Met all requirements for a UCSC Silicon Valley Certificate in Human Resources Management.

Several UCSC Silicon Valley Extension's Human Resource Management certificate courses meet the criteria for pre-approved recertification credit(s) for any of HRCI’s eight credentials. As a SHRM Recertification General Provider, each course is valid for a designated number of PDCs for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®.
